Rosewood Sanya
A design-minded island lookout

The marque’s debut hotel in China embraces its position on Hainan Island, with the 246 guest rooms looking out over the South China Sea (45 of them feature balcony plunge pools). Art plays a big role here, engaging the themes of nature and the ocean, as displayed through eye-catching pieces in the lobby, including Carlos Arnaiz’s abstract floral oil painting, and a two-metre-high sculpture of a diver in the infinity-pool bar. The bar is just one of four dining places, with comfort foods available alongside 13th-floor views at East Kitchen, plus the options of light bites and craft beers at The Lounge, and fresh fish at The Chop House. Another eatery, The Fishmonger, will open in September. Sense, A Rosewood Spa tops off the indulgence with its indoor yoga studio and VIP treatment room.
