Gucci Museo
A fascinating love song to one of the city’s most coveted companies
Opened to great fanfare in late 2011, the 3-storey museum displays cult classics that span the feted hometown fashion marque’s 90+ year history. Housed in an restored 13th-century palazzo on Piazza della Signoria, the thematically arranged space traces the company’s provenance from founder Guccio Gucci’s humble beginnings as a fine leather purveyor to its current status as one of the most coveted labels on the planet. Make sure to pop by the Icon Store, which stocks its own exclusive line of bags and scarves.
*2018 update: this is now Gucci Osteria by Massimo Bottura
