Named for Austrian Empress Elisabeth, who was born in Munich, this permanent street market at the heart of the city’s fashionable Schwabing neighbourhood hosts a cosy collection of purveyors whose wares span fresh produce, spices, delicatessen and even homemade beer across some 3,000 square metres. A fantastic alternative to city centre market Viktualienmarkt, which is normally teeming with tourists.
