Dolphin Island
Fijian opulence with castaway charm
Providing a sumptuous sense of being marooned – the good kind, with open walled, thatch roofed bures (cabins) and interior spaces masterminded by renowned Kiwi designer Virginia Fisher, Dolphin Island stands apart for its highly polished design. Contemporary furnishings ensconced in natural materials exude a distinct Pacific style; something carried from the Main Bure Pavilion, to the two guest bures and, on the opposite end of the island, Hilltop Sleep-out Bure – a romantic, rustic bolthole facing the sunrise. Food on the island takes a distinct Indo-Fijian fusion, with host Dawn Simpson picking the freshest produce from local markets, and guests picking the most eye-catching catch-of-the-day, fresh from the net.
