Eccentric Accommodations
A trio of Alpine stays with an overtly characterful edge

La Plagne has transformed one of its piste-bashers into a luxe suite kitted out with queen-sized bed, home cinema and bathroom – at 2,400 metres above sea level. You’re picked up from Plagne Bellecôte at 9pm and taken to the Over the Moon “room” in its starry setting.
Enjoy nature, too, by staying in the forest near Saint-Jean-d’Aulps in the Portes du Soleil: Les Bulles d’Aulps is opening its third bubble dome, with lovely views and wonderful peace and quiet. The bubbles have outside decks; inside are double or king-sized beds, lanterns and wood-burning stoves.
Still on the forest theme, located between Megève and La Clusaz, is Cabane Entre Terre et Ciel. Choose between Cabane Nid, which is built like a nest with 30sq m roof terrace; Cabane Mont-Blanc, a treehouse with spa and sauna; and Cabane du Ruisseau, accessible via a rope bridge and featuring a big slide and play area.
