Secret Bay, Dominica
Tranquil encounters with nature

Dominica is a mighty, rainforest-cloaked island that best suits walkers, divers, nature-lovers and fans of old school Caribbean. Secret Bay is its only contemporary five-star escape, a slickly designed hideaway built on a private headland near Portsmouth. Three super-sized Zabuco Honeymoon Villas are set on concrete stilts, plus there's two smaller, tree-shrouded bungalows and a two-bedroom villa. It's a pity there's no restaurant, but meals can be served in-room and make the most of the island's fresh fish, spices and tropical fruits.
