Hotel Lungarno
Ferragamo-owned boutique property on the banks of the Arno
Located in a converted 16th-century house near the Ponte Vecchio, Lungarno makes a startling first impression from the eclectic design style of renowned Florentine architect Michele Bönan and impressive collection of 20th-century art in the lounge (Picasso and Cocteau included) to the medieval tower with a terrace bar and the striking views down the Arno. There is substance to go with the style in the 68 rooms that – due to a recent refurbishment – are rather spacious, and in Restaurant Borgo San Jacopo, where chef Peter Brunel reinterprets classic local dishes.
