The Residence Mauritius
Classic romance with a contemporary touch
With four-posters draped in netting, antique furnishings and white shutters, The Residence enjoys an elegant, romantic feel. Inspired by the island’s 19th-century plantation houses, the colonial-style decor sits well with the lush tropical surroundings, while the contemporary spa is pleasingly progressive with treatments by French beauty brand Carita. Of the three restaurants, the ocean front Plantation is the most atmospheric, serving a mix of seafood and Creole cuisine. There are also two pools, three tennis courts, a water sports centre and a mile-long beach.
