Art Basel Hong Kong
International contemporary art fair widely credited with fuelling Hong Kong’s art boom
The third location to join Art Basel, and opening venue each year for the acclaimed fair, the Hong Kong edition puts the city firmly in focus as the nucleus of Asia’s international art scene. Taking place in March, the veritable mixing pot of mediums reflect the city’s own cosmopolitan diversity – bringing together the works of some 3000 artists, and representation of over 170 leading modern and contemporary galleries. Look out for the Encounters sector, which brings elements usually found across the city – interruptions of urban life that give pause to those who come across them – here, inside the exhibition halls.
