Segera Retreat
An opulent, oasis enshrined sanctuary in Laikipia

Thanks to the endeavours of proprietor Jochen Zeitz’s Zeitz Foundation, Segera has gone from what once overgrazed pasture, folly to poachers, into a reserve dedicated to restoring and conserving the area’s biodiversity. A leafy oasis dotted with thatched roof villas and a main residence overlooking the Laikipia Plateau, the private spaces boast unique decor marked with the works of African artists, antiquities, hardwood floors and plush furnishings that extend outside onto private terraces, inviting a midday snooze or stargazing by outdoor hot tub. Oenophiles are in luck too, the property’s Wine Tower houses a healthy collection of African bottles to pick and choose from.
