Hotel Wailea
Romantic oceanfront escape

Formerly a Japanese private members club, the transformation into this Relais & Chateaux outpost retained the privacy aspect, refocusing the property into an adults-only resort that swaddles guests in the comfort of Philpotts Interiors-styled exclusive beach houses, capturing a sophisticated Hawaiian flavour in limestone and coral walls, and bleached oak floors. Set amid 15 acres of Zen-inspired grounds, tropical gardens, waterfalls and meandering pathways, the experience extends out with access to Wailea Beach, complete with Beach Valet providing attendant services and picnic baskets prepared by the award-winning hotel restaurant. Private dining in the treehouse beneath a canopy of mango and avocados and overlooking the hotel’s organic farm gives mealtimes a memorable twist.
