Marcel Wanders left his mark all over this former public library. The designer's decidedly quirky twist on Dutch icons, reconfigured and re-sized (with a little nod to Alice in Wonderland), allows guest to discover something unexpected at every turn. The art collection is similarly unconventional. Video works by artists like Ryan Gander and Erwin Olaf are dotted throughout the building, refusing to be ignored.
