Castello di Vicarello
Countryside chic, all year round
Approximately an hour and a half from Florence and Pisa, Castello di Vicarello is a restored castle built in 1112 and transformed into a gorgeous countryside retreat. Original elements such as terracotta tiles, stone walls and wood beams were incorporated in the renovation, matched with antique furniture, frescoes and decorative elements brought back from travels through southeast Asia. Four of the suites overlook the castle courtyard, while three others lie amid a garden of white roses, lavender and olive trees.
