Hotel de Rome
Baroque-style boutique near Brandenburg Gate
A hip and young clientele mixed in with business travellers head for Rocco Forte’s Hotel de Rome: a 19th-century building that formerly housed the Dresdner Bank, located near the Brandenburg Gate and State Opera. Maintaining many of the bank’s original architectural features and high ceilings, the hotel’s style can best be described as contemporary with high Baroque touches, while the 107 rooms and 39 suites are more simple, featuring marble bathrooms and balconies overlooking Bebelplatz. A further highlight is the hotel’s 20m swimming pool and spa area that was once the bank’s jewel vault.
