This six-storey property, which juts out into the water on Marina Bay, may be the neighbourhood’s most intriguing hostelry, despite its arguably unsightly steel and glass exterior. Inside, there’s a different story to be told: Hong Kong starchitect Andre Fu has created a sumptuous retreat, from the sweeping glass-tiled, chandeliered lobby to the destination lounge Lantern on the roof. Its 100 rooms are marked by polished rosewood, latticed screens, leather details and a soothing palette of natural colours – many with breathtaking, floor-to-ceiling views of the city ahead.
