Aman Kyoto
A minimalistic ryokan amid a zen forest
The Aman brand has for decades been synonymous with an ethereal opulence that’s difficult to categorise, and the recently unveiled Aman Kyoto is no different.
Modelled on a traditional Japanese ryokan, the strikingly minimalistic aesthetic guarantees a soul- and body-reviving experience – aided by the onsite onsen and its mineral-rich waters. In Aman’s elegant lattice pavilions, guests overnight among natural woods within the light-filled interiors, all with tranquil views of the surrounding forest to help foster peace and relaxation.

Adding to the beautiful ryokan experience is the convivial restaurant and bar – all arranged around a central fireplace – as well as the all-natural spa, complete with mineral hot springs, mindfulness programmes and Shiatsu massage treatments.
