The Aquanaut Luce Lights Up
Patek Philippe revisits its Aquanaut Luce line with a host of opulent new additions
The sparkly, sporty cult watch Aquanaut Luce (meaning “light” in Italian) from Patek Philippe has received an alluring new makeover that revisits the timepiece’s original 2004 design, but now in a new generation of quartz-powered models and a self-winding version that comes in 18k rose-gold, which will take over from the previous references. The flagship model of the new Luce has been endowed with an enlarged diameter of 38.8mm (previously 35.6mm) and an integrated strap with contours that follow the curvature of the case and the lugs. Adding to the piece’s opulence is a bevelled edge with 48 diamonds. A similar level of luxury also exists on the Aquanaut Luce Travel Time rendition, which has been enhanced with a more user-friendly movement by transferring the setting system to the winding crown.
Additional updated Aquanaut Luce models available include those in a steel case with quartz movement (Reference 5067) or in rose gold with a self-winding movement (Reference 5068), with dials and matching straps in a variety of colours.
