This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch introduced by Rolex and, as such, a cornerstone of the brand’s horological legacy. To commemorate the occasion, Rolex unveils Oyster Story, a major exhibition tracing the origins of this history-making timepiece. The exhibition, staged at the West Bund Dome in Shanghai from 10 to 28 June 2026, will explore how a bold technical breakthrough became a pillar of Rolex’s identity – and altered the course of modern watchmaking. Through an array of collector pieces, accounts by iconic wearers, technical expositions and immersive installations, Oyster Story will recount the tale of a legendary timepiece and offer never-before-seen insights for timekeeping connoisseurs.

Refurbishment of Venice’s storied Hotel Danieli, which connects three laguna-facing palazzos on the Riva degli Schiavoni, is due for completion this summer. Now managed by Four Seasons and with its Venetian Gothic interiors refreshed by the legendary Pierre Yves Rochon, it retains everything that made the property so special – including the incredible view from the rooftop bar and restaurant. A spa and 56 additional rooms are due to be added later this year, and reservations for August are now open.

From 5 June to 6 September, Musée Maillol in Paris invites fashion lovers to step into the bright, bold world of Gianni Versace. The sweeping retrospective – the first major French exhibition dedicated to the iconic designer since 1986 – will showcase 450 pieces, including more than 120 silhouettes and mannequins in addition to a trove of accessories, sketches, photographs, videos and rare interviews. Premiering on what would have been his 80th birthday, and what is tragically the eve of the 30th anniversary of his death, the retrospective provides a kaleidoscopic glimpse into Versace’s visionary mind and the fascinating people, places, philosophies and movements that inspired him.
