Hidden away in a small vintner’s medieval village in the Var, about an hour’s drive from Nice, this former 12th-century abbey was transformed into an intimate auberge with a pool, gardens and a lovely chestnut-shaded dining terrace. The comfortable suites are filled with collector antiques, but the real draw is Michelin-starred chef, Benoit Witz, whose exquisite Provençal cuisine is whipped up from the finest ingredients in the region.
