Hoshinoya Bali
Jungle-enshrouded waterways at this all-villa retreat

The first hotel from Hoshino Resorts outside of its native Japan, this resort village is centred around three river-like pools, where the peaceful pace of a rejuvenative stay is very much set by the water. Villas give access to semiprivate pool areas, all leading to the quietude of a lounge overlooking the resort’s waterways. Traditional decor depicting local plants and animals lines the walls – a nod to the cultural strength of the Ubud area, which draws artists from across the world for its myriad of arts. Treetop gazebos offer a unique perspective on the jungle surrounding the resort. The restaurant is similarly perched – a lofty spot to enjoy the flavours of Bali and Ubud, plated using Japanese culinary techniques.
