Chasing the Horizon
Private jet tours can cover an astonishing amount of distance in total comfort – and these epic round-the-globe odysseys fully embrace that potential.
Australian operator Captain’s Choice, now 32 years old, will soar over a 3,500km swathe of South America in October as it jets from nature-watching in the Galápagos to Easter Island, followed by a foray into the Antarctic Peninsula. That same month, Abercrombie & Kent’s five-continent jaunt will involve coral-reef diving, wine tasting, rare wildlife and fascinating cities, planned and led by its legendary founder, Geoffrey Kent. Four Seasons caters to a health-conscious clientele with an eight-stop World of Wellness route punctuated by restorative overnights in the brand’s highest-category suites. The bespoke itineraries of Aman, meanwhile, include 12- and 13-night stints in China and Southeast Asia, as well as the three-week Grandest Tour, which visits its properties near Lijiang’s Unesco-protected Old Town, Bhutan’s five valleys, the pink city of Jaipur and more.
Other major players are also joining the globetrotting fun. Last year, Preferred Hotels & Resorts announced its inaugural tour, covering Singapore, India, Rwanda, Kenya, Greece, Morocco and London, while Pan Am returned to the fray by recreating its original transatlantic circle route to Europe, with an African Adventure planned for 2027. Smithsonian Journey’s new Seven Continents trip races through incredible global must-sees via plane, train and automobile, while National Geographic Expeditions has added three routes: Jewels of the Pacific Rim, Circumnavigating the North, and Photographing the World, which will whisk guests between the planet’s most picturesque locales, accompanied by photography experts.
