SeaTrek’s latest adventure invites passengers to follow in the wake of legendary British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace, whose 1869-published travelogue The Malay Archipelago gave the Western World a first glimpse of the region’s many allures.
Led by Wallace-authority and naturalist Dr George Beccaloni and spanning the Spice Islands, Halmahera and the Raja Ampat islands, guests aboard the 12-cabin Ombak Putih can expect to behold an incredible menagerie of rare wildlife – birds of paradise, giant manta rays, dugongs, coconut crabs, black macaque monkeys – as well as a vast range of mind-bending landscapes, from smoking volcanos to lush jungles.
