Schumann's
A Munich institution with attitude

Mention the catchword “bar”, and there's no avoiding Charles Schumann, who opened Schumann's American Bar in 1982 on Maximilanstraße. The celebrity quotient is similarly high to that of Berlin's Borchardt, a fact that hasn't changed since the bar's 2003 move to Odeonsplatz. Germany's best-known barkeeper and male model, Schumann is very busy, but still takes the time to mix his legendary cocktails, like the Swimming Pool, himself. The famous roast beef with pan-fried potatoes is likewise still on the menu.
