As the first luxury jeweller to collaborate with Netflix, Tiffany & Co. will showcase its legendary creations in Guillermo del Toro’s forthcoming film Frankenstein, set for release in select cinemas on 17 October and on the streaming platform from 7 November. To mark the premiere and the design collaboration, an exhibition entitled Frankenstein: Crafting a Tale Eternal will be held in London from 17 October to 8 November. The immersive showcase invites visitors to explore the artistry behind del Toro’s filmmaking, featuring recreations of archival Tiffany & Co. pieces as seen in the film, alongside original costumes, exquisite artefacts, artwork and rare books that pay tribute to Mary Shelley, author of the original novel. Meanwhile, in New York, Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark, will unveil a spectacular window display created in collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, on view from 8 October to 3 November.
Lost Forests at Christie’s, London, shows unique works by fine jeweller and crafts supporter Natasha Wightman of NVW. The creations are made from 4,800-year-old sub-fossilised Norfolk bog oak and blackened silver, shaped by master carvers into primaeval British landscapes of rainforest and mountains, then burnished with powdered malachite or gold and bordered with emeralds, sapphires and diamonds. The small but extraordinary exhibition will run until 22 October, and from 18 October will feature dance sequences, film and soundscapes, all directed by Wightman.

Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District, a hub for culture and tourism featuring an enticing array of museums and galleries, continues to expand its attractions. The futuristically amorphous TeamLab Phenomena gallery opened this spring, and the inaugurations of both Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (the Emirati branch of the iconic New York institution, placing a special emphasis on West Asian, North African and South Asian art) and the Zayed National Museum (dedicated to Emirati history) are planned for later this year.
