Ser CasaSandra, Holbox
Artist’s retreat turned boutique hideaway
Owned by an artist, Ser CasaSandra lies on a tiny island just north of Cancun. The 17 rooms and suites have a boho feel with colourful fabrics and antiques, but no televisions. Suite 12 is the most private. Serving a mix of Cuban and Mexican dishes, the restaurant is one of the best on the island, while the small spa is great for massages. The outdoor pool is popular for times when the tide washes seaweed onto the beach.
