Whether you think it looks like a giant metallic orange slice or a raised Noah’s Ark, there’s no doubt that Ruy Ohtake’s striking design has made the Unique one of the most instantly recognisable hotels in South America. The porthole windows, curved walls and black and white fittings give the rooms a beguiling space-age feel and the rooftop Skye bar is a strong contender for serving up the best caipirinha in the city.
