A temple of German and Austrian art
This museum of early 20th-century German and Austrian art and design, was co-founded by philanthropist and billionaire art collector, Ronald S Lauder. The works are housed in a stately and spacious landmark mansion on Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side. The Neue’s collection includes paintings, sculptures, works on paper, decorative arts and photography by Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Gustav Klimt, including his glorious masterpiece, the mosaic-like Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.
