Lighting up the harbour in the dark of winter
The annual festival lights up winter nights with a spectacular calendar of events. The tagline touts ”light, music and ideas” and while concerts and talks make up a major part of the programme, the audiovisual show is the real heart of the festival. Light sculptures, many of them interactive, and colourful projections are choreographed to make all of Sydney harbour shine, using buildings along the waterfront as canvas. Almost like New Year's Eve, without the hassle.
