In late 2027, A&K Sanctuary will open Samkani Camp on Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. Composed of five self-sufficient Airstreams, plus another dining and lounge Airstream with its own bar, the design adapts know-how from A&K’s low-impact mobile camps in Africa to provide a luxurious sojourn on the beguiling South American site. Each guest can count on a private guide and driver, and more than thirty activities are available across the Salar. A uniquely up-close-and-personal experience of an incredible, otherworldly landscape.

This weekend’s Classic Boat Festival will bring over 70 vessels to St Katharine Docks in London. From charmingly restored narrowboats to historic sailing boats and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee barge, the event is a chance to discover some fascinating maritime history in London’s largest marina.

Speed on Water, Speed on Land

Louis Vuitton takes its extensive design savoir-faire to the open road in its recent collaboration with Singer, the Californian atelier known for its ultra-custom restorations of classic Porsche 911s. The marques joined forces to reimagine two vehicles – one with a Type 964 coupé chassis, dubbed “Classic” and the other, “Classic Turbo”, a Type 964 cabriolet chassis – with bespoke Louis Vuitton details. The elements redesigned include the instrument display, embossed seats, custom exterior treatments and a detachable dashboard clock created by Swiss atelier La Fabrique du Temps. The partnership involved every Louis Vuitton department, from leather artisans to trunkmakers, and the Classic even includes a specially designed roof rack that can accommodate a trunk, a surfboard or a pair of skis.

Herzog & de Meuron, the Swiss architectural studio behind the design of M+ Hong Kong, is returning to the museum for an exhibition devoted to its own noteworthy achievements. The 500-strong team of this resourceful biotope has realised over 600 projects across 40 countries, which are examined through rarely displayed models and drawings.
