Jeweller Harry Winston’s latest addition to its New York collection is an exquisite high jewellery suite, inspired by the Manhattanhenge - a spellbinding phenomenon that happens only twice a year (next time on 12th July) - when the setting sun aligns perfectly with Manhattan’s street grid, casting a brilliant orange glow across the borough’s skyline.
These warm and rich hues are captured by the new suite, which comprises a necklace and a pair of earrings set with white diamonds and pear-shaped spessartites, featuring a fluid pattern that mimics the beams of natural light.
Milan jeweller Pomellato takes over Harrods’ jewellery exhibition corner - and a roof-to-ground level billboard - with three stylish “rooms", featuring classic gold chains, faceted, deep-cut Nudo gems, and unique pieces including Catene chain styles hand-set with Harrods-green emeralds.
Latest jewellery/art collaboration, as adventurous pearl brand Tasaki picks multi-media artist Hiroko Nakakita to create works including its precious spheres, from gently-coloured textured abstracts in oils, acrylic and crystal to the glorious Lily Crown and a spectacularly oversized silk kimono. Admire them all, wear some - in-store selling exhibition until July 11.

Valentino has unveiled its new Paris flagship, a stone’s throw from the Hôtel Plaza Athénée. The three-storey space – which boasts an entire floor dedicated to menswear – is rife with the marque’s signature rich, royal red and Roman decor touches throughout. Look out for the striking hammered-brass showcases by Fabio Cinti.
Highly sustainable and very rare: handmade pieces by top Edinburgh jeweller Hamilton and Inches in single mine origin gold from the unobtrusive Cononish Mine in the Trossachs National Park. Initial smelting onsite, pieces made above the store. Small range based on Mary Queen of Scots’ fleur de lys symbol, selling as fast as the workshop can produce them.
Cellar in the Sea: Book a Journey with Veuve Clicquot
This June, an intimate group of champagne aficionados will savour an experience like no other, sailing to the Åland Islands to join the Summer Solstice celebrations – and to taste ultra-exclusive Veuve Clicquot champagnes that have been aged at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
First result of British brand Bremont’s new investment and CEO: the Viper, latest in their collaboration with ejection seat maker Martin-Baker. Tested in the extremes of ejection conditions and based on their testing module, it is bright orange (to locate if parted from the crash dummy), big but very light and super-strong, in carbon-coated titanium and anodised aluminium, with manufacture movement. A true talking point.
Still time for your own Coronation bauble - British designers have been working overtime. David Morris’s bandeau-style diamond tiara and Boodles’ Gemini ring, featuring heart-shaped diamonds from the legendary Cullinan mine, are one-off investments while Annoushka’s Crown Charm miniaturises St.Edward’s crown in gold, arched round an amethyst “cap” with gems including diamonds and sapphires. Edition of 100.
