LINLEY gifts and accessories shop opens in Burlington Arcade

Hailed as the predecessor of today's shopping galleries and malls, the Burlington Arcade in central London has been proffering fancy and fashionable things from its brand name storefronts since 1819. Rather recently, the (almost) bicentenarian shopping centre has experienced a sort of Renaissance, with the first phase of a major restoration project complete and a host of high-class labels joining the mostly British retail flock. Things just got more English and even more upscale with the addition of the newest tenant, a LINLEY seasonal gifts and accessories shop.

In the 27 years since David Linley established his eponymous label, it has risen to the peak of British craftsmanship for its retail and bespoke services in furniture, gifts, upholstery and home accessories, in addition to award-winning interior design work. The Burlington Arcade shop joins two other LINLEY outposts in London – one in Belgravia and another in Mayfair – and will be stocked with the brand's unique collection of photo frames, jewellery boxes, candles and humidors, all handcrafted in Britain.

Plans are to be open from July 27th until the end of December, but Linley has expressed a desire to make the Burlington Arcade store a more lasting arrangement. "The Burlington Arcade is one of my favourite London destinations and in every way quintessentially British," he said. "I am proud that our shop will be alongside some great British brands and designers and it is our hope that it will become a permanent feature of the Arcade."
