Centurions rank the most indispensable lounge amenities

Centurions rank the most indispensable lounge amenities

Modern commercial air travel inevitably means down time, whether it's after check-in, between flights or before boarding begins. For most First and Business Class ticket-carrying passengers, this means hours spent in luxury lounges at airports across the globe. But are all lounges created equal? We asked Centurion readers to sound off about their must-have amenities.

Centurion Insights: Jet Stress

Stylish surroundings, like views of the air strip and interiors by a big name designer, rank highest on the list for 23% of respondents. Many readers, however, must be taking in the designs during work rather than play, as 11% require up-to-date working facilities, while only 3% put much stock in the films, music, magazines and other entertainment on offer. But for an overwhelming 50% of respondents, the way to their heart is through the stomach. According to them, an airport lounge is only as good as its food and refreshments.

Still another 13% favour other features – or wish for a little bit more. One reader says, "While the most comfortable airport lounges are undeniably a boon to the weary traveller, I am still waiting for one that offers my most hoped-for feature: a transporter à la Star Trek to teleport me to my final destination." It looks like this reader might have a while to wait.

Wherever you are, take this chance to weigh in on the latest Centurion Insights survey: in your opinion, which country is home to the most iconic luxury brands?
