On the Pulse

By Avril Groom

Animal magic - Shaun Leane’s new collection, Signum, began in lockdown when he befriended a family of urban foxes and later discovered ancient beliefs from his ancestral Irish homeland, where animal spirits represent desirable human qualities. Single Mine Origin gold shield shapes (for protection) are hand-engraved and enamelled with a choice of nine animals and six enamel colours for personalised rings, bracelet and pendants.

The second collaboration between British watch brands Bremont and Bamford Watch Department shines a new light on the traditional dive watch. The Supermarine GMT Aurora dives to 500 metres and shrugs off rugged environments, its sandwich dial featuring a plate of bright green Superluminova, also on hands, indicators and sapphire day/night bezel, with black upper dial and strap.

By Jacob Cohën

Jacob Cohën's new spring/summer collection celebrates the conscious traveler, expressing clear ideas about where his journey will take him, whether as a metaphor for life or simply for his August holiday. Full of the typical Italian beauty of the Bel Paese, the collection captivates the eye and soothes the soul.

The softly-pleated Viv'Choc chain-handled bag is worked a dozen ways, including handcrafted flowers in silk chiffon, feathers, hammered metal, complex beading and embroidery or hand-set crystals. Each a one-off but variants can be ordered.

Gucci brings its Cosmos exhibition to London, reimagined to reflect founder Guccio’s early days working at the Savoy, where clients’ chic bags inspired him to design luggage. Displays all aspects of the brand's universe, mixing icons with modern successes from Tom Ford, Alessandro Michele and new name Sabato de Sarno. Magical rooms are Flora, its greatest print, and Archivia - open drawers to discover sketches, samples and one-off bags. Some of it is dark and intentionally disorientating. Until December 31.
