Combining a wealth of manufacturing and design expertise, Italian cycle manufacturer Bianchi and fashion house Gucci have collaborated on a special edition cycling collection known simply as ‘Bianchi by Gucci’. While the latter needs little introduction, Bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle manufacturer, drawing on over 120 years of experience, and has supplied bikes for numerous Tour de France winners and world champions.
While it won’t be winning many races, with two bicycles, a helmet, water bottle and a retro pair of cycling gloves, the new collection has pretty much everything the style-conscious cyclist could need. The range is available at a select number of Gucci stores worldwide as well as Bianchi’s new Cafe&Cycles concept store in Stockholm.
Currently enjoying unprecedented popularity in cities across the globe, the single-speed racing bike trend has been seized upon here with a particularly eye-catching model. Dominated by a white steel frame, the Bianchi by Gucci city slicker is offset by a brown leather saddle and handlebar grips. The almost all-white look is sure to gleam in summer, but may need a little more TLC to maintain its pristine look in winter months. For those looking to occasionally escape the asphalt, and a slightly more practical paint job, the collection also features a matt black, lightweight, carbon fibre hybrid model with carbon fork and disc brakes. Combined with the polycarbonate helmet and brown leather cycling gloves, it offers the perfect combination for an elegant weekend ride in the country.
