Benesse Art Site Naoshima, a chain of serene Japanese islets that boast fascinating cultural spaces like the droplet-shaped Teshima Art Museum and Hiroshi Sugimoto Gallery, welcomed its latest opening this weekend. Designed by Tadao Ando, the Naoshima New Museum of Art will show major works by artists from Japan and around Asia, with freshly commissioned works from 12 artists and groups already on show for the inauguration.
